The Osumi Canyon is a river canyon in southern Albania, near the town of Çorovoda. The river, which passes through the town of Berat, flows through the canyon. There are many underground passages and unexplored caves throughout the length of the canyon

Highlights & What to Expect

During the spring, high water from melting snow makes it possible to explore the whole length of the canyon from the river. The rapids are Class II, so one does not need prior white water experience to navigate them. At the end of the summer, when the water is lower, the full length of the canyon is not navigable, but there are various walks with opportunities for swimming in various pools and streams.

Itinerary

Day 1.Tirana - Osumi Canyon - Berat

Leave Tirana at 08.00. During our journey we will have a short stop before we reach the canyons and start our exploration. Along the way we will have the opportunity to enjoy the panoramic views of the Osumi River and the high peaks of Mount Tomorri. Arrive at the canyons and will visit the Panoramic platform of the canyon, Abaz Ali Trace, the Panoramic Balcony “Bride’s Hole” (according to a legend), the Old Bridge of Zabërzan, Father ‘s Mill.
Lunch will be organized in the area in a simple restaurant with fresh food.
In return we will stop our car near the path leading to Bogova Waterfall. We will start hiking for about 30 min to arrive at the beautiful spot of the waterfall. After some free time there we drive back to Berat to spend the night.

Day 2. Berat - Historic Neighborhoods - Tirana

After a Delicious breakfast in hotel we will start the tour visiting the magnificent city of Berati. We will visit 3 Historic Neighborhoods: Gorica, Mangalemi and Kala (Castle). We will walk on the old streets in the castle and visit the churches build since XIV century, Red and White Mosques belonging to Otoman period and the museum of Onufri the famous painter of XV century.
Lunch will be organized in Berat. After lunch we will return to Tirana.
